Dear All, please find below the call for beam requests at PS and SPS in 2022. We discussed already the interest for beamtime for mixed beam (behind production target) at the PS, in particular to check radiator configurations. Propose to discuss further and shape our requests in our meeting next Wednesday. Regards Philipp -------- Weitergeleitete Nachricht -------- Betreff: Call for 2022 PS/SPS proton and ion fixed target beam time requests Weitersenden-Von: philipp.kahler@cern.ch Datum: Mon, 18 Oct 2021 20:30:38 +0000 Von: Sps Coordinator An: ps-sps-users (For communications by SPS coordinator) Dear Colleagues, This is the official call for beam requests for the 2022 PS and SPS proton and lead ion Fixed Target Program. The deadline for submission is Monday, 15th November 2021. For the LHC experiments, ALICE, ATLAS, CMS & LHCb, please submit your request to your experiment’s test-beam coordinator well before this dead line: ALICE: Arturo Tauro ATLAS: André Rummler CMS: Dragoslav Lazic LHCb: Heinrich Schindler This year, you will have to enter the beam time request via a web interface. The questions follow closely the ones in the word documents, which you filled in the previous years (see for example 2021), but ask a few more details about your set-up and the requested beam. Your answers will be directly recorded in a database. Please join the explanation session of the new tool on Friday, 5th November at 9:00 on zoom https://cern.zoom.us/j/65136546896?pwd=NG10anNQUVhxbDJVSlJQbUNjbDYvQT09. A recording of the session will be made available. I will send the link to the web submission tool early in November. Please find attached the General Conditions applicable to Experiments performed at CERN, also available here. The full draft of the injector accelerator schedule is not yet available. Please find below the preliminary start and end dates for the PS East Area and the SPS North Area: 1) PS EA FT physics start: March 14th (at the earliest) 2) PS EA FT and AD physics end: December 12th (nTOF and ISOLDE a bit earlier) – protons in the EA could stop a bit earlier 3) SPS NA FT physics proton start: April 11th (at the earliest) 4) SPS NA FT physics proton end: November 14th 5) SPS NA FT ion physics start November 14th 6) SPS NA FT ion physics end: December 12th For questions on the beams or the infrastructure, please contact the liaison physicists for the beam lines Dipanwita Banerjee, Johannes Bernhard, Nikolaos Charitonidis & Alexander Gerbershagen (sba-physicists@cern.ch) and/or the PS/SPS physics coordinator (sps.coordinator@cern.ch).
