FEE development for mCBM

- The integration of the GETS with the GBTx need detailed studies of the configuration of CROB. The working hypothesis is that there might be some settings/checks which although work for the default implementation they might fail for FASP/GETS. (+2w)

TRD-2D wire electrode realization

- Wire pitch and tension was successfully measured for a test winding of cathode wires.

- The wire pitch regulator device technical drawing was finalized (V.Duta). Contacts with 2 producing companies were established. The financial and time completion offer will be provided (1w) 

Entrance window construction

- Kapton window postponed (1w)

- an already existing window was identified which can be used for the prototype by removing one carbon sheet.

CERN-PS participation in ‘22

 

ECR : LV and HV

- There are various issues related to FEAST DC-DC converters in the context of LHC experiments which point in the direction of non-reliable working.

- The LV distribution for TRD-2D stops before the Power Distribution Boards (PDB) which appear in the SPADIC based solution. By consequence, the TRD-2D implementaion omits the DC-DC conversion stage from the LV distribution chain and move it to the FEB design.

- A statement based on these design considerations will be added to the CDR document (Alex)

DAQ TDR

- A first meeting took place and a rough estimate on the data rate was given. Sources of uncertainties related to detector and electronic noise as well as on secondary particle production due to various material budget sources present in different experimental setups have to be drafted.

- Next meeting has to be prepared until Friday. 

Infrastructure for TRD-2D chamber production

- There is plenty of practical experience in the group won by constructing ALICE-TRD and ALICE-OROC.

- Roughly the infrastructure is functional.

- Man-power is an issue in the context of generational shift.

- A planning of foreseeable activities and their coverage in terms of man-power needs to be elaborated based on current understanding
