The hardware of the actual measurement device is the same. The DAQ card in the control computer was replaced by a new one because the driver for the old card did not run under Windows 10. But I think the software was completely rewritten (based on the old program).
 

    - In Murat's thesis a new PCIe-6320 board is mentioned. I could not find
    any information about the cable used to connect this board with the
    electronics. What cable type do we need?

 
I have to check the cable again. The new DAQ card has a new connector so that the old cable could not be used. 

    - The mapping of the pins is the same? Was the wire configuration on the
    cb-68lpr board inside the 19 inch case modified?


From what I can tell, the pinout should be identical. At least no special cable was made. But it certainly makes sense to compare the pinout again to be shure.
 

    - I saw that that position cable was removed because a new method of
    estimating the position was used. Was anything else modified inside the 19
    inch case?


We had significant problems with the position sensor, more precisely with the signals at the output. Therefore we had decided not to rely on the position data of this sensor.

As far as I know, there have been no other modifications.
 

    For all the questions it would be very useful to have some photos of the
    systems involved.


I am currently on vacation, but if desired I could submit pictures next week.

In addition, efforts are currently underway in Münster to develop a new wire tension measurement system.
