      Intro 5m
Speakers: Alexandru Bercuci (IFIN-HH), Andrei Herghelegiu (National Institute of Physics and Nuclear Engineering (IFIN-HH)), Claudiu Schiaua (IFIN-HH/DFH), Gheorghe Caragheorgheopol (National Institute of Physics and Nuclear Engineering (IFIN-HH)), Laura Radulescu (IFIN-HH), Mariana Petris (National Institute for R&D in Physics and Nuclear Engineering (IFIN-HH), Bucharest), Prof. Mihai Petrovici (National Institute for Physics and Nuclear Engineering (IFIN-HH)), Vasile Catanescu (National Institute of Physics and Nuclear Engineering (IFIN-HH))

From the official summary of the Council by the FAIR Management:

      • “Good news on additional shareholder contributions: Poland (formal letter from Poland will follow until end July 2024), France, Sweden
      • Good news regarding the commissioning budget: the proposed commissioning budgets were supported by the CSG and commissioning budgets have been released by the Council for the years 2024 and 2025 as a new budgetline with additional budget.
      • Good solution process regarding power cables from India: critical Inkind supply by India urgently needed in line with the site installation process.
      • Good news regarding time critical components for CBM beamline - magnets and vacuum components: the Council is supporting the procurement of these time critical items as long as the overall budget situation is positive. With the formal confirmation of the contribution from Poland end of July 2024 a decision in writing will be initiated to approve this procurement step. The tendering process for these components can start already immediately.
      • The next Council meeting in December 2024 will take place in Kolkata, India with the hope that in the phase towards this meeting in December 2024 the Indian shareholder can make steps forward in granting an additional contribution for FAIR.”

This means we have a beamline to the CBM cave approved!

Data taking with fast-extracted U beam T=0.9AGeV (charge state 73+, 17.15 Tm rigidity), June 20, 2024 (C Sturm from MM):

      • 3.3s cycle time (sync to UNILAC, acceleration, cooling, extraction)
      • approx. 1us extraction duration
      • first run #3192, common start: 14:50 CEST, common stop 15:01 CEST, duration 00:11h (short run for fast offline data analysis)
      • last run #3199, common start: 20:53 CEST, common stop 22:00 CEST, duration 01:07 h
      • all runs taken with 2.5mm Au target
      • all runs taken with tag: 2024/production/june_write_pub_all_dets_much6_hdd
      • constant and stable beam conditions
      • beam intensity ? Might be 100 U ions per 1us extraction within a 3.3s cycle. But this is not measured since particle counters of the present beam diagnostics cannot cope with fast-extracted beams.
