Description

An in-person  Workshop on Elastic and Inelastic Neutron Scattering (WINS-2026), will be hosted at the site of the European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC) in Geel, Belgium, from 21st September 2026 to 23rd September 2026.

WINS is a biennial technical workshop designed to unite scientists from around the globe who are engaged in the study and calculation of neutron elastic and inelastic cross sections. WINS 2026 marks the seventh iteration of this series, following successful workshops in Troy, NY, USA (2023), Predeal, Romania (2018), Santa Fe, USA (2016), Dresden, Germany (2014), Boston, USA (2012), and Strasbourg, France (2010).

The event is organized by Unit G.6 (Nuclear Data and Measuremenet Standards) of the JRC-Geel, Belgium, in collaboration with Horia Hulubei National Institute for R&D in Physics and Nuclear Engineering (IFIN-HH, Romania), and the  Institut pluridisciplinaire Hubert Curien (IPHC, CNRS-Strasbourg University, France). Among other activities, the Unit operates the GELINA and MONNET accelerator facilities, a guided visit of GELINA will be organised during the workshop.
